WHO ARE YOU?

I believe that we were all created for a special purpose and it is your job to find out what that purpose is. Sometimes it is hard to find out what that purpose is but I know that if you observe closely, you would find out what it is you were called to do. it is easier to find out who we are when we believe in something. I don’t know about you but I know myself. I am a christian and getting to know God helped me navigate who I am.

I have a secret to tell you and that is; knowing who you are will help you overcome the struggles of life. Sometimes I want to give up, I just lay there and cry my eyes out but something greater than me kept me going and I just know that there is a place I ought to be. Finding out who I was made it a lot easier to live the life that I have.

The first thing you need to find is you and after that you can find other things. Nothing will make sense in life until you figure out who you are and what you have been called to do. Not everyone will be famous and not everyone will be in high positions. your purpose might just be being a nurse in that rural hospital and helping to treat patients. Your purpose might be being a commercial farmer who exports farm products. What are you drawn to? Have you seen things done wrongly and you feel within you that you can change things and make things a lot better?

Most times what we are called to do is just there staring at us but we neglect it because we imagine it to be something big or some thing that would make the world applaud us. Well I smile and chuckle because it is not always written in black and white. For some people, what they are called to do will make them known around the globe and for some, their purpose would only make them known just within their tiny community. To me, the main aim is to fulfil our calling and make sure that we die empty. We must stop enriching the grave with unfulfilled potentials.

Have you ever asked yourself what would make people remember you? One thing you must know is that people might forget the gifts you bought them but they will never forget how you made them feel. Are people happy or sad when they see you? Do they leap for joy or are they in fear when they see you? I believe that we are all called to do something good and something unique. Well that does not rule out evil, just like darkness presents itself in the absence of light, so will evil present itself in the absence of good. If the good people don’t occupy the political seats, evil people will. If we don’t stand and fight corruption, the corrupt people will keep doing their thing. Good people should act quick and find out who they are.

Knowing who we are is more than having passion for something. This is because your passion can disappear if things don’t go the way you expected. Will you keep serving in that profession if the income you earn from it does not make you to be rich as Dangote? Will you continue to be in that profession if your life is hunted as seen in cases for Lawyers and journalists?

Your purpose can be more than one but one always dominates the others. For example, I am a doctor, a singer, a writer and an educationist but I see myself spending more time in being a doctor than being a writer or a singer. Your purpose is always something you will never get tired of doing no matter how stressful it becomes in the long run. This is because our creator gave us a special strength to carry out our assignments. If you don’t embrace your calling, people are going to suffer, this is because your calling is not meant for you. Your calling was meant for you to use it and serve others. Ask yourself what you love doing and will never get tired of doing it.

The good thing about knowing our purpose is that once we find out what it is, it will be easier to choose in other aspects of life. You would do better in choosing a spouse or choosing where to live. Knowing who you are will help you to choose your friends. Everyone can’t be your friend and that’s why you get to choose. You would have to choose people that will uplift you, people that would tell you the truth as regards to who you are.
